Singularity Movement scored at Maia.
Pleiades Resources Enterprise is still present in the system, but no federal entity has been in position of control in the system since that night.
Tonight, the Singularity Movement achieved a major victory in their mission to rid the Maia system of Federal control.
Two days ago, the fighting raged on between the Ant Hill Mob and the Pleiades Resources Enterprise as they tried to desperately hold onto their last remaining base of power in the system. Only the outpost, Maia Point, located on Maia A 2 b planet, was still under their control and they did not intend to let it slip through their fingers as easily. The feds therefore concentrated all the forces present in the system to defend this outpost.
That’s when the general coordinator launched a call to arms: “A win today, means no Federal Base in Maia tomorrow!”
The Deus Ex Machina Initiative received the call as well. Although occupied around Shinrarta Dezhra, pilots participating in the Initiative’s “Operation: Burn Elites” were dispatched in support of the troops engaged by Singularity Movement in this decisive battle.
Fierce fighting raged the whole day and night, making many Federal casualties. However the feds finally gave up the game in the end.
Today, there is no longer any base under control of the Federation in Maia!
Who would have bet a few weeks ago that such a thing was possible?
A superpower was forced to bend it’s knees in front of a group of independent pilots who aren’t, for the most part, seasoned fighters.
Previously on July 20, Federal President Zachary Hudson promised (mostly to those who wanted to believe it) that the Federation was going to protect humanity from the “threat of an aggressive non-human species“. However, it has now been proven that they don’t have the ability to keep control of the smallest stones floating in a near system suburb of the Core Worlds.
A month earlier, pilots received a distress call from a Federal convoy that was apparently attacked and entirely destroyed by Thargoids. This convoy consisted of the Federal thieves that stole Professor Palin’s data. However, there is evidence that seems contradict this report. Even though serious doubts still hang over the subject today, this had resulted in the consolidation of the position of the federal President in the Congress. A majority had, then, supported the issue of increasing military budgets. Yet, sighted observers of federal political life said that this unity was fragile.
There is no doubt that it will be even more so when Congress will hold the President accountable for the use of force he has made in the recent weeks of increasing the Federation’s military expenditure. This will please opposition leader Felicia Winters, as well as former President Jasmina Halsey’s supporters in Congress.
However, we must not forget that all this certainly please much more our dear Club. Its members probably rubs their hands while I write these words. Hudson is so power hungry that he is easy to manipulate. But his warfare policy no longer deluse us, and the Club will eventually make him fall into disgrace. We can even assume that the pawns needed for the Club to pursuing his agenda without Hudson are already in place in Pleiades Sector (see http://the-onionhead.ovh/2017/07/21/latest-news-outbreaks-sirius-pleiades-sector-2/ and http://the-onionhead.ovh/2017/07/14/breaking-news-the-oracle-of-pleiades-sector/).
